Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems

It is essential for all companies and businesses to have a system in place to manage the health and safety of their workforce (including contractors) and others, for example members of the public. Health and safety legislation requires the provision of safe and healthy workplace and an Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) also referred to in some states and territories as a Work Health and Safety Management System (WHSMS) is a widely recognised tool used to manage this obligation. It also helps to ensure that all members of staff understand their responsibilities and to demonstrate legal compliance.
HAZCON offers:

1. Health and safety gap analysis;
2. Development and implementation of policies, plans and procedures;
3. Training of relevant staff;
4. Internal auditing and inspection programs; and
5. Measurement and review.

HAZCON can develop a new OHSMS for your organisation based on the existing procedures or create new procedures to fill any gaps. To be effective, the OHSMS should be specific for your organisation and provide straightforward methods for dealing with health and safety issues as they arise.

As the legislation changes, or when the policies and procedures have been established, HAZCON can provide updates to assist in implementing and reviewing your OHSMS system in the workplace.

We can also help you to integrate your OHSMS with your Quality Assurance and Environmental Management systems.
