WorkSafe inspectors are about to visit Moe, Newborough and Trafalgar!

Posted on 1 August 2015

WorkSafe Victoria will conduct more than 100 workplace inspections in the Moe, Newborough and Trafalgar area from 17-21 August 2015 as part of the  "Campaign to make towns safer"

According to WorkSafe more than 400 workers were injured in the Moe region in the last five years, costing over $12 million in treatment and rehabilitation.

The campaign is designed to ensure local workplaces are equipped with all the tools necessary to make informed decisions about health and safety and to make sure employers understand their legal obligations.

The inspections are likely to focus on hazardous and high risk workplaces with inspectors concentrating on workplace dangers that can lead to serious injuries relating to handling chemicals, working with electrical equipment and manual handling.
