Employment History
I joined the HAZCON Team early 2024. I have spent over 20 years working with people and organisations of all sizes, small, medium to national to improve health and safety performance. Along the way, I have built great relationships as a Trainer, Consultant and a Certified Auditor.
My role within HAZCON includes delivery of training courses with public participants or development of training for client specific requirements. Training is a great forum for communicating the importance of health and safety and empowering people with knowledge.
As a consultant, we provide a wide range of services. This may involve participating in workplace inspections, or conducting risk assessments, supported with advice and guidance on compliance. We create Management Systems, stand alone or integrated, which enables the client to achieve its objectives. The life cycle of a system is a unique challenge but ultimately aids the business to meet legislative obligations and improve safety performance.
Auditing programs test the reliability of systems and processes designed make the workplace safer and mitigate risk. Whilst it is a snapshot in time, the desired outcome is to promote the importance of a systematic approach, raise awareness and levels of engagement to support organisational goals and commitment. A by product is the identification of gaps or corrective actions for improvement.
As a safety advisor, our role is to research material, industry specific or regulatory and tailor that information for each client and their workplace.
Over the years I have enjoyed personal growth in my skills and knowledge. We learn from others as well. My work experience includes roles in construction, the education and public sector to the maritime industry. Recently I have undertaken work with renewable energy companies. There is no limit to learning and implementing change for the better.
