What you love about working at HAZCON:

Because HAZCON is such a diverse company, there are so many aspects of the job which allows there to be a wide variety of different assessments to manage or take part in. As a result, no 2 days are generally the same. It also means that there are a wide range of different businesses and organisations to work with which allows you to visit some really interesting places around Victoria, and even travel interstate, along with meeting a wide variety of people. Within the assessments, it is also really enjoyable to get to know the workplace and people and understand their needs to be able to put together recommendations for occupational hazards which are workable and practicable. It also means that you can do a variety of tasks within all of the business streams, whether asbestos and occupational hygiene, environmental, training or HSE consulting, and you are never delegated to one stream only, which means there is always room for growth and diversification.

The team at HAZCON is very supportive also, with people being very approachable and open to helping out with complex jobs, training new team members or being available to offer advice or assistance when needed. This includes people who are relatively new, and people who have been in the business longer than myself. I feel as well there is a good comradery which has been fostered by good leadership and an inclusive atmosphere. Since I have been at HAZCON for over 13 years, it has allowed me to see the growth and development of some of my colleagues who have excelled in various industries, and it has been really satisfying watching them tackle new jobs and develop new skills.
