RIIWHS202D Enter and work in confined spaces

Duration: 1 day (face to face)

Aim: To provide participants with skills and knowledge required to enter and work in confined spaces in the resources and Infrastructure Industries. This unit is appropriate for those working in operational roles undertaking work in confined spaces.

Key Areas Covered:

  • Planning and preparing for entry of confined spaces;
  • Enter and work in confined spaces;
  • Exit confined spaces; and
  • Clean up.

Assessment: Competence in this course is determined by practical demonstration, a written assessment and targeted questioning that distinguishes between the various circumstances and the ability to carry out the requirements. Participants who successfully complete the assessment are issued with a Statement of Attainment RIIWHS202D - Enter and work in confined spaces.

Target Audience: This course is aimed at people who are required to enter a confined space.

This course can be conducted on site at your company's premises or at HAZCON's training facilitiy in Notting Hill.

Confined Space Refresher training:

  • Refresher training is at the discretion of the employer and should be provided as appropriate for a particular workplace. The frequency of refresher training should consider the frequency of with which employees are required to carry out tasks associated with entry to or work in confined spaces.
  • There is no legislative requirement for refresher training for any units of competency from National Training Packages.
