Remove Asbestos

Duration:  2 Days (face to face) 

Aim: This nationally accredited and WorkSafe Victoria recognised course provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills to safely remove friable and non-friable asbestos containing materials. This course will deliver suitable qualifications to work for a licensed asbestos removalist company in Victoria and in WHS jurisdictions.

Qualification:  On successful completion of the course; a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment will be issued for:

  • CPCCDE3015A Remove friable asbestos and

  • CPCCDE3014A Remove non friable asbestos

These are suitable qualifications to work for a licensed Class A or B asbestos removal company in Victoria and WHS jurisdictions.

 

Description: This nationally accredited and WorkSafe Victoria recognised course provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills to safely remove friable and non-friable asbestos containing materials. On completion of the 2-day training course, participants will have an increased awareness of asbestos and asbestos exposure; and be able to demonstrate safe handling procedures with relation to asbestos products.

The course includes preparing, enclosing, removing and decontaminating for friable and non-friable asbestos work. As well as waste management and disposal requirements.

In order to be successful in this course participants must demonstrate competency in three key areas; classroom discussion, practical asbestos removal*2 and a multiple choice written assessment.

Pre-requisite:

  • CPCCOHS1001A Work safely in the construction industry (White Card)
  • Sufficient English written and oral language skills to complete an enrolment form and participate in group discussion during the face to face training session and a multiple choice written assessment. Note:
1. A certificate for CPCCOHS1001A Work safely in the construction industry is required. A red card cannot be accepted.
2. HAZCON provides realistic simulation activities to provide participants with real world scenarios; however, we don't use any asbestos containing materials.
3. All equipment required for the training course is provided. A fit test is included as an assessment component of the course; students may bring their own respirators to the training session to have their personal respirator correctly fitted.
