CPCCBC4051A Supervise asbestos removal

Duration: 8 hours (face to face)

 

Aim: This course will provide participants with the information and qualification required to be nominated as an Asbestos Removal Supervisor under the OHS Regulations 2017 and/or the WHS Regulations.


Pre-requisites:

  • CPCCOHS1001A Work safely in the construction industry. If the evidence of a certificate for CPCCOHS1001A Work safely in the construction industry cannot be provided, the participant can only be awarded a Certificate of Attendance for Supervise asbestos removal.

Learning, Literacy and Numeracy Requirements

  • In order to be successful in the unit, students must have sufficient English written and oral language skills to enable clear and direct communication with trainer and other students.
  • Students must be able to; collaborate effectively with others, develop a control plan and complete a short answer written assessment.

  • Revision of asbestos
  • Requirements and role of an asbestos removal supervisor
  • Planning for asbestos removal
  • Preparing site for removal
  • Supervising testing, compliance and documentation
  • Overseeing removal and decontamination processes
  • Supervise and support team members

In order to be successful in this course participants must demonstrate competency in three key areas; case studies, simulated supervision of asbestos removal and a written assessment.

Note:

1. A certificate for CPCCOHS1001A Work safely in the construction industry is required. A card (red or white) cannot be accepted.
2. HAZCON provides realistic simulation activities to provide participants with real world scenarios; however, we don't use any asbestos containing materials.
