Course Description: This qualification reflects the role of individuals who possess a sound theoretical knowledge base and use a range of specialised, technical or managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate their own work, the work of a team and the performance of organisations in relation to auditable criteria.

Pre-requisite: Nil

Key Areas Covered:

  • Knowledge of the application of management systems with particular emphasis on AS4801.
  • Be able to complete an audit utilising the requirements of AS/NZS ISO19011.
  • Be able to establish an audit strategy based on accident / incident trends, risk profiles and system requirements.
  • A broad understanding of the scope of an auditor's responsibilities.
    • Prepare an audit program in line with business risks
    • Engage with stakeholders as to the scope and purpose of the audit program
    • Initiate and conduct an audit
    • Lead teams in the preparation for and conduct of an audit
    • Collect, analyse, compare and contrast data to relevant Standards or other criteria
    • Consult, question,    clarify and evaluate information in relation to audits and WHS performance
    • Identify and provide recommendations for continuous improvement
    • Provide strategies in addressing non conformance
    • Identify and manage risks within a Management System
    • Adopt innovative approaches to learning and improving team member skills
    • Present audit reports and information

Target Audience:This course has been developed for individuals with a base knowledge and understanding of auditing systems and will also provide participants with appropriate resources and tools to enhance their capabilities when conducting quality audits.

Ideal for individuals, who co-ordinate and maintain an organisation's compliance with legislation, accepted industry practices and codes, and certifying standards or as a formal qualification for people looking to break into the field.
