Manual Handling & Ergonomics

Manual Handling injuries account for approximately 58% of all injury claims.

Manual Handling includes a wide range of activities including lifting, pushing, pulling, holding, throwing and carrying. Repetitive tasks are also considered to be manual handling. Unsafe manual handling may cause injury.

The OH&S Regulations 2007 require the employer to identify any hazardous manual handling task undertaken by employees and implement control measures which eliminate the risk of injury or reduce the risk of injury as far as reasonably practicable.

HAZCON can assist you to:

  • Identify Manual Handling Hazards
  • Assess the Risk of Injury and Recommend Risk Controls
  • Re-design Workplaces
  • Review Mechanical Aids
  • Develop Procedures and Work Instructions.

HAZCON can also develop interactive instructional CD’s for use as self paced training aids based around the specific hazardous activities undertaken in your workplace.
