Peter Attwood BSc, BAppSc, MSc, CPMSIA, RSP (Aust), MAIOH          

Chief Executive Officer

Peter Attwood is the Chief Executive Officer, Principal Consultant and Senior Hygienist of the company.  He has degrees in Science, Environmental Health and a Masters in Work Environment Monitoring.  He has more than twenty years experience including two and a half years at the University of Wageningen in the Netherlands.

His experience includes position of Principal Occupational Hygienist with the Victorian Health and Safety Authority and Principal Occupational Hygiene and Safety Adviser with the former State Electricity Commission of Victoria.

Peter is fully certified as an OH&S Auditor for management systems and legislative compliance. He also holds a Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training with extensive experience in all areas of OH&S training.

 

Ian Good Image

Ian Good BAppSc, RABQSA OH&S   

Principal Consultant – Health, Safety & Environmental

The Principal Consultant of HAZCON, Ian holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Chemistry), an Advanced Diploma in OH&S and is a trained Six Sigma Green Belt

Ian is a Principal Auditor for HSE Management systems and has over twenty years experience in the chemical and plastics industries as a Quality Assurance Manager, SME for regulatory laws, Regional Technical Manager and Regional Sales Manager. Ian has a broad range of experience covering Hazardous and Dangerous Goods audits, Agricultural Chemical Management, auditing of HSE and Quality management systems against a number of standards and laws as well as developing a range of HSE systems for a wide variety of organisations.

He is an RABQSA certified OH&S Principal Auditor for OH&S Management Systems and Chemical Management and holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and is an approved cooling tower RMP auditor.


Richard Forster Image

Richard Forster MSIA, CMIOSH (UK) 

Principal Consultant – Training & Development

Richard is an experienced OHS Practitioner of 20 years working in Australia and England. and has developed and implemented a wide range of policies, procedures, training courses and management systems. He joined HAZCON in 2008.

Richard is a qualified Lead Auditor in OHS Management systems and a WorkSafe approved trainer and deliverer of the Small Business Program. He is passionate about his work and a keen believer in sensible risk management and health and well-being issues.

Richard also has 6 years experience in Major Emergency Response Plan at pan-London level and has Gold and Silver Command experience of dealing with real time emergencies including terrorist attacks, major fires and chemical incidents.

Richard is a Member of the Safety Institute of Australia and a Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (UK). He holds a Diploma in OHS and Certificate IV Training and Assessment.

 

David Wright MOH&S, Grad Dip OH&SM, DipBus(QA), CPMSIA, RSP (Aust), MIOSEM

Principal Consultant - Safety Services

Recently joining HAZCON as a Principal Consultant in Safety Services, David brings with him a high level of experience in OH&S. With a Masters and a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Management, he has implemented several Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) including policies, procedures, risk assessments and Safe Operation Procedures for a range of clients.

David is also a certified Lead Auditor with RABQSA for Quality Management Systems and has a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment and Onsite Environmental Management. He has been involved with developing and conducting training in a variety of topics including Hazard Risk Assessments and Controls.

David is a Chartered Professional Member of the Safety Institute of Australia and holds a Certificate IV in Onsite Environmental Management.

 

Deb Wilson

Asbestos & Occupational Hygiene Coordinator 

Coming from a scientific research background, Deb has had over 20 years experience in field trial management, data management, work scheduling, staff recruitment and development.

Deb brings extensive experience to the role of coordinator scheduling staff, resources and conducting administrative tasks for the group and is a capable and efficient consultant on asbestos and occupational hygiene issues.

Deb is a NATA signatory for HAZCON’s NATA accredited Laboratory.

 

Marianne Yencken BSc, MSc,CIH

Senior Health, Safety & Environmental Consultant

Marianne is a certified industrial hygienist with over 25 years experience in the practice of occupational health and safety. She has provided technical guidance in OH&S across a wide range of workplaces including chemical, automotive, shipbuilding and petrochemical industries, academic institutions, hospitals, property management firms as well as government agencies in the USA including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Department of Energy and the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH).

Marianne’s experience includes positions of Senior Consultant for DuPont managing OH&S and radiation safety programs at DuPont’s research and manufacturing facilities in the US and Principal Research Scientist at the Battelle Institute working on national research programs for NIOSH. Marianne is currently providing occupational health services and quality control review for HAZCON's diverse range of clients in Australia.

 

Peter Hudson Dip (OHS), Dip (Management)

Senior HSE Consultant

The diversity of Peter’s background in safety spanning some 17 years has given him a great deal of experience in operational safety within the Timber, Construction and Engineering/Manufacturing fields. Peter has project managed the development, implementation and internal auditing of safety management systems for various industries both at a management & operational level.

Peter is a WorkSafe Victoria approved Consultant/Trainer and has been a constructive member of several WorkSafe Victoria industry working groups assisting in the development of guidance material for several industries.

Peter has lectured at Swinburne University of TAFE for several years in consultation, identifying hazards, managing hazards & applying the principles of OHS Risk Management.

Peter strengths are minimising the divide between management and operational staff in applying practicable safety through system implementation, consultation, training and empowerment.

Peter holds a Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training and has delivered company specific safety training for many industries.

 

Ruth Knight Image

Ruth Knight BAppSc, LLB, GradDipLegalPractice

Senior Health, Safety & Environmental Consultant

Ruth has been extensively involved with development and improvement of the existing management systems. Ruth holds a Bachelor of Applied Science, and Bachelor of Laws and possesses a unique range of skills, being an experienced OH&S Consultant and a qualified lawyer.

She has over fifteen years industry experience having worked extensively with contractors in the Water Industry, undertaken project management and asbestos remediation programmes in larger industrial sites. Ruth is an experienced workplace trainer, holding Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training, and has also worked as a teacher with a major tertiary educational institution.

Utilising her practical experience and legal knowledge Ruth has developed a number of comprehensive training programs explaining the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 and Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2007 in practical terms. These courses have been approved by the Victorian Regulatory Authorities.  She has looked at risk assessments from a regulatory compliance point of view and has developed a compliance tool for the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004.  Ruth has also has provided a range of briefing sessions to boards and senior managers of several major listed Australian companies.

Richard Whitlam BSc(Management Science)

Senior Health, Safety & Environmental Consultant

Richard has extensive practical experience in providing complete asbestos project management services.  He has worked as a consultant for one of the largest asbestos risk management companies in the UK, managing asbestos remediation projects to ensure compliance with both client and legal requirements.

Richard has a broad range of experience in the engineering and construction industries and is involved in noise, dust and asbestos projects. Recently Richard has been providing hygiene services on the Victorian Desalination project. He is an approved signatory with our NATA accredited asbestos laboratory.

Richard also holds a Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training and is actively involved in the presentation of various OH&S training programs.

Philip Edwards Dip (OHS), MSIA

Senior Health, Safety & Environmental Consultant

Philip has extensive demolition and construction experience as well as experience with fire and emergency services since 1995. Philip has been an Officer in the CFA and provided an extensive range of training programs for volunteers and professional staff.

He has been involved in system reviews and audits for government and commercial facilities, creation and implementation Health & Safety Management Systems for companies, management of contractors and staff development and is a signatory for HAZCON’s NATA Accredited Laboratory.

Philip holds a Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training and is a qualified Trainer for Confined Spaces, Breathing Apparatus, Prevention of Falls from Heights and a broad range of fire and rescue courses. Philip also holds a Certificate IV & Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety.

 

Jessica Hall Grad Dip OH&S, B Occ Thy, CPMSIA, RSP (Aust)

Senior Health, Safety & Environmental Consultant

Jessica has 13 years experience as an Occupational Therapist. She has spent the last 10 years working within the Occupational Health and Safety and Occupational Rehabilitation industry. Prior to coming to HAZCON Jessica has worked for a National Provider in a variety of roles, including managing a large business unit. Prior to working in Occupational Health and Safety Jessica has experience working in neurological rehabilitation in a health care setting.

Jessica has a passion for providing outcome driven services and enjoys seeing positive outcomes for her clients. She has significant experience in conducting Workplace assessments, Ergonomic assessments and Manual Handling Risk assessments.

Jessica also has extensive experience in the provision of training services within organisations to assist in empowering employees to work safely.

Jessica is a WorkSafe Victoria approved trainer and Chartered Professional Member of the Safety Institute of Australia.


Antony Coventry Image

Antony Coventry BEd. MSIA

Health, Safety & Environmental Consultant

Antony has a diverse background with training experience in a variety of industries. He began his career as a secondary teacher, but later moved on to train adult learners in various aspects of workplace health and safety.

Antony worked as a training consultant for a range of organisations conducting Height Safety and Confined Space Entry Training. During his time with the company Antony was also involved in the development and implementation of Risk and Safety Audits. He has also managed the education division at Canoeing Victoria, where he was responsible for the training and assessment of outdoor instructors in all aspects OH&S and Risk Management.

Antony has a Bachelor of Education and a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.

Antony is a NATA signatory for HAZCON’s NATA accredited Laboratory.

 

John Rochford BSc

Health, Safety & Environmental Consultant

John holds a Bachelor of Science, majoring in ecology and has worked in a variety of environmental fields including laboratories, water corporations and government agencies.

Within these roles John has gained experience in field sampling and testing of water and soil samples, facilitating environmental risk management action plans including Environmental Management Systems and offering technical support for research projects.

John has experience in conducting asbestos and hazardous building material audits, air monitoring and visual clearances for asbestos, and is an active member of the NATA laboratory team.

 

Lauren Pickering BSc(Hons)

Health, Safety & Environmental Consultant

Lauren holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) majoring in environmental science, and has had experience working in a soil research team. During this time Lauren gained experience in organising, coordinating and conducting field trials and laboratory based experiments.

Lauren is an active member of HAZCON’s NATA Accredited Laboratory and is responsible for managing laboratory processes and is a capable and efficient consultant on asbestos and occupational hygiene issues.

 

Kelly Treyvaud

Technical Officer

Coming from an administration background, Kelly has an extensive background within the construction industry, having spent many years working for a large national building materials supplier.

Together with her experience in the building industry, her recent role within HAZCON’s Training & Administration team, completion of a variety of OH&S training courses and working closely with HAZCON’s hygienists Kelly has developed a sound knowledge of OH&S requirements and processes.

Kelly has successfully completed a nationally recognised Management Systems Auditing course, and is one of HAZCON’s internal systems auditors.

Kelly’s OH&S and administrative skills make her a valuable member of the HAZCON Health Safety and Environment team.

 

Tony Wolkow

Technical Officer

Tony has extensive experience in the telecommunications and building industry with the regard to the working processes and safety requirements.

He has experience in Occupational Health & Safety, Confined Spaces, Gas Detection, Standard Rescue, Pole top rescue, Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation and Mechanical Handling. Tony has been involved in many asbestos projects, including project management, asbestos and hazardous building materials audits, air monitoring and visual clearances.

Tony is a NATA signatory for HAZCON’s NATA accredited Laboratory.
